Real Housewives of Atlanta Cast News: Star Phaedra Parks Opens Up About Ex Apollo Nida
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star, Phaedra Parks recently appeared on "Watch What Happens Live" and revealed that her 4-year-old son, Ayden is "very aware" of his father, Apollo Nida's incarceration, the Wrap reports.
"Ayden definitely knows that [Apollo] is in Kentucky and Apollo told [Ayden] where he was. He's very aware. That's very tough for a 4-year-old," she explained.
Though Ayden's younger brother, Dylan is not able to comprehend Nida's incarceration, Parks revealed that she still allows Dylan and Ayden to speak with Nida on the phone frequently.
Back in September, Nida turned himself in to FMC Lexington prison in Lexington, Kentucky to begin his 8-year jail sentencing for identity theft and bank fraud.
Following his jail sentencing, Parks filed for divorce from Nida and later admitted on the newest season of "RHOA" that she felt betrayed by Nida's actions and thus chose not to be present for his court appearance.
Despite their past conflicts, TMZ reports that Parks is still in close contact with Nida and even sent him her best wishes during the holiday season.
"I have sent him a Christmas card and everything. I speak to him all the time," she told TMZ.
Parks also revealed on "WWHL" that she and Nida speak "five, six times a week, if not more."
Though Nida is currently spending time in jail, he recently spoke with In Touch Weekly about his hopes for his estranged marriage with Parks.
"Yes, we've had problems - especially over the last year - but we've gotten on terms now where I can call her and it's cordial," Nida explained."I'm hopeful that we can stick things out."
Meanwhile, Parks' reps have told In Touch that there is no hopes of reconciliation between the two parents despite their abilities to remain cordial during the divorce filings and Nida's jail sentencing.
