Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey Divorce: Rapper to Diss Ex-Wife on New Album?
TMZ recently spoke with music producer and "Love and Hip Hop Hollywood" star, Mally Mall who revealed that he is working on producing Nick Cannon's upcoming album that will encompass both the good and bad parts of Cannon and Carey's former relationship.
Mall also described Cannon's album as "controversial" but would not elaborate further on what he meant by that statement.
Following Mall's statement, several media outlets--including GuardianLV-suggested that Cannon's newest album would be a diss record to Carey.
Prior to the news of Cannon's alleged diss record, TMZ released an audio clip back in October of Carey changing the lyrics to Billie Holiday's "Don't Explain" during a performance.
The lyric change prompted many to believe that Carey was dissing Cannon for his alleged cheating during their marriage.
Carey changed the song's original lyrics from "And I know you cheat/Right or wrong, don't matter" to "I know you cheated motherf***er."
Despite her performance diss, Cannon continues to publicly support his ex-wife and recently told In Touch Weekly about his plans to spend the holidays with Carey and their children.
"Gotta keep that going. I want to make sure we have a wonderful holiday together," Cannon told In Touch Weekly.
When asked where he and Carey planned to celebrate the holidays, Cannon replied, "Somewhere cold and snowy, like Aspen [Colorado]."
Although it is unclear whether Cannon and Carey will reconcile their marriage in the future, InTouch Weekly reported at the time that the father of two is taking his relationship with Carey "one day at a time."
"We talk and text every day," Cannon added. "My children are my No. 1 priority. Everything I do is for them. I just want to be the best father I can possibly be."
Cannon has yet to publicly announce his plans regarding an upcoming album.
Carey has yet to speak publicly about her breakup with Cannon.
