Lindsey Vonn is back on the Alps after missing the majority of the past two seasons, and the former Olympic champion revealed her boyfriend, Tiger Woods, helped her recover from multiple knee injuries.

Vonn said her recovery from a major setback in her career was tough, but the star skier said the golf superstar supported her throughout her rehabilitation from a second knee surgery, E! Online reported.

The former Olympic downhill champion failed to defend her title in Sochi in February 2014 after reinjuring her right knee in December 2013. But when she returned to action late last year, Vonn proved to still be a force to reckon with on the Alps as she scored two World Cup victories despite having a long layoff.

Vonn is currently training at Beaver Creek in preparation for the 2015 World Championship, where she will look to win more medals in the downhill and super-G in February.

The 30-year-old skier, who won two gold medals at the 2009 World Championships and a silver medal in 2011, knows that winning another medal this year is easier said than done because of the quality of competition, but she vowed to be at her best in next month's competition.

"It's steep. It's fall-away. It's compression. It's in your face the entire way," Vonn said via the Denver Post. "I think the winning run is not going to be one that's perfect. It's going to be whoever fights the hardest. It's more about being scrappy, fighting for every inch."

And as for her relationship with Woods, Vonn said it is also running smoothly. She is aware most people think their relationship will not last, but Vonn reiterated she is already used to all the talk and speculation about her and the superstar golfer.

"I don't really care what anyone else thinks as long as we're happy that's what matters," Vonn said.

Recent reports indicated Vonn fears Woods might reconcile with ex-wife Elin Nordegren. But Nordegren made it clear her current relationship with Woods is just centered on their children and that she is happy for her ex-husband and Vonn.

"I have moved on, and I am in a good place," Nordegren said to People. "Our relationship is centered around our children, and we are doing really good. We really are. He is a great father."
