"Teen Mom" star Catelynn Lowell and fiancé Tyler Baltierra welcomed their second child together on Jan. 1, and both are getting some heat for it, Yahoo! reported.

The couple appeared in "16 and Pregnant" and in the show's spinoff "Teen Mom" to publicly document their decision to put their first daughter Carly up for adoption. Now at the age of 22, the couple is ready to marry and raise their second daughter Nova Reign together.

Tyler tweeted, "Having her here feels unreal but actually taking her home feels even more unreal.. I actually get to be happy about leaving the hospital."

He added, "Crying happy tears instead of sad ones feels AMAZING! I don't have to be heartbroken this time #EmotionalDaddy #DontMindMe."

Amidst hateful talks from critics on taking the second child home, Tyler tweeted, "So sick of the ignorance in the world. Just because you placed a child for adoption doesn't mean you're not allowed to have another #GetReal."

He later re-tweeted @LauraPatten1 who said, "Ignore the h8rs my birthmother had 2 kids including myself and she only kept my sister but that doesn't make me think less of her."

@ohAna_2oo7 tweeted to Tyler, "thank you! I adopted out and gave birth after and still get criticized for it."

"People sometimes place children for adoption and then have other children," Adam Pertman, President of the National Center of Adoption and Permanency and author of "Adoption Nation" told Yahoo!

"People sometimes have a child then place another one later for adoption," he added. "It's very difficult -- and that's putting it mildly -- for the people involved, and it's not fodder for outsiders to weigh in and judge their behavior."

Pertman said adoption is a very tough process made under very extraordinary circumstances and parents have the right to raise a family later.

"Even if their circumstances didn't change, people's minds change, their understanding of their decisions change, and that's something no one can feel but them," he said.

Either way, the newly engaged couple is enjoying their new bundle of joy.
