Chespirito Death: Florinda Meza Allegedly Doesn't Allow Visitors to Husband's Grave
Florinda Meza's actions continue to draw controversy.
Roberto Gomez Bolaños's wife previously upset fans by revealing she would be selling his houses and shutting down his Twitter account. Now, the wife of the comedian, better known as Chespirito, is allegedly keeping people from visiting the Mexican figure's grave, according to El Universal.
The actress has supposedly given orders that absolutely no one can visit Chespirito's grave. There are guards who are turning people away, and there's even supposed to be cameras that monitor the site.
El Universal further adds children have come to leave letters and objects at Chespirito's grave, but the guards have just taken the items to personally give to Meza. The graves of other important Mexican icons, such as Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete and Pedro Armendáriz, are open to the public.
One of Meza's most vocal critics was La Chilindrina actress Maria Antonieta de las Nieves, who alleged Meza was the reason Chespirito's first marriage ended. La Chilindrina later apologized for her statements on Telemundo's "Suelta la Sopa," according to 24 Horas.
"I felt bad about myself, I said, 'I have to be brave,'" she said. "I am going to apologize as Maria Antonieta de la Nieves and please take me seriously because I won't do it against. I am sorry for having confirmed something the whole world knew. It's not a secret, but why did I have to confirm it? I shouldn't have said it."
Chespirito died on Nov. 28, 2014, and many Latinos took to social media to express how much he and his shows meant to them.
Actor Sebastián Rulli said Chespirito was one of his idols on his Twitter account.
"One of my idols @ChespiritoRGB has left!" Rulli said. "Creative, noble, sensible, talented and a great human being. He taught us a lot and left us more. #RIP"
