Thursday Night Football 2013 - NFL October 24 Scores, Results and Winners: Carolina Panthers Winning Streak Continues; Tampa Bay Still Winless
It was Thursday Night Football last night, and as always, the game last night had enough TNF action plus some.
Last night the Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced the Carolina Panthers at home, and the outcome wasn't what the team wanted. The Buccaneers failed to put a win in its stats as it fell short, 31-13, against the Panthers. Tampa Bay remains winless at the start of week 8, while Carolina moves up the ladder with 4 wins and 3 losses.
Cam Newton led the Panthers to a victory, throwing two touchdown passes. He also scored for his own, running towards the end zone; and in celebration, he did his trademark Superman pose. According to NFL.com, Newton has thrown 667 yards, six touchdowns and has 0 interceptions in the team's three straight wins.
"It's the culmination of a lot of things," Newton told the press, reports NFL.com. "When you've got an offensive line that's protecting the way they protect, when you've got a running back that's running, you've got receivers making plays after the catch, it's really not hard. It's just up to me to make the right decision and get the ball into people's hands that it needs to be."
As for the Buccaneers, this is the seventh time in the team's history that they've lost their first seven matches. Fans are already angry about the team's current status that many are already calling for coach Greg Schiano to be fired.
"It doesn't affect me. 'People are certainly entitled to their opinion," Schiano told the press about the fan signs. "You sit there and cry about it, but that's not going to help."
Rookie Mike Glennon threw 275 yards and completed a touchdown, but it wasn't enough to lift the Buccaneers.
Carolina Panthers will be facing the Atlanta Falcons on November 3, in an aim to extend their winning streak. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on the other hand, will meet Seattle Seahawks on the same day with the hopes to finally score a win.
