While becoming overwhelmed with grief and despair, Bonnie will consider taking her own life in the next all-new episode of "The Vampire Diaries."

The trailer video of Thursday's episode, entitled "The Day I Tried to Live," suggests that Bonnie will become suicidal as her birthday rolls in while she is still stuck in time all alone. As a result, Elena, Damon and Jeremy will put their lives on the line to save Bonnie before she ends her life.

The CW also published a sneak peak from the episode on People.com that shows Caroline celebrating Bonnie's birthday by baking a birthday cake and decorating her house with balloons. In the clip, she tells Stefan that she plans to find a teddy bear that she took from Bonnie back when they were children. Caroline explained that she plans to go find Bonnie's bear, which she buried in the woods 12 years ago, as a way to deal with the loss of her best friend and her sickly mother.

Stefan, however, tries to help Caroline cope with these tragic events in a rational way.

"You've been going through a lot lately," he says. "Do you think you're maybe just a little confused about what you're actually upset about?"

"Yes, probably," Caroline says in agreement. "But my mom's dying and my best friend is stuck in an alternate universe and her bear is in a hole in the woods and there are only two of those things I can do anything about."

Another teaser video reveals that Elena will bring up the passionate kiss that she shared with Damon.

According to Dread Central, the official synopsis for "The Day I Tried to Live" reads as follows:

"Determined to celebrate Bonnie's (Kat Graham) birthday, Elena (Nina Dobrev) convinces Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) that it's what Bonnie would have wanted. After piecing the broken ascendant back together, Elena, Jeremy, and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) attempt to send Bonnie a message, but the situation turns dire when they make an unsettling discovery.

"Meanwhile, after uncovering Stefan's (Paul Wesley) secret about his great-niece Sarah Salvatore (guest star Tristan Mays), Enzo (Michael Malarkey) enlists a reluctant Matt (Zach Roerig) to help interfere with her life. Elsewhere, Stefan keeps a close eye on Caroline (Candice Accola) as she unconventionally attempts to cope with everything going on around her.

"Lastly, realizing it might be time to move on with his life, Jeremy contemplates leaving Mystic Falls for good."

Season 6, Episode 13 of "The Vampire Diaries," titled " The Day I Tried to Live" will air Thursday, Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
