Cristina Saralegui Fills Void for Those Missing Her Talk Show by Giving Dating Advice
Cristina Saralegui made her comeback to Univision in late 2014, and now the Cuban star continues to be there for those who miss her talk show.
The former "Cristina" host recently answered love and relationship questions on "Despierta América."
One woman told Saralegui that she and her boyfriend had broken up six months ago, but she still can't forget him.
"It's very important that you leave that behind," Saralegui said in response. "The past passed. Turn the page."
Another viewer wanted to know what a girl in the digital age is supposed to do. The Los Angeles resident said she feels it is very hard to find a boyfriend because of the Internet.
Saralegui had one solution: get out.
"The most important thing in finding a partner who is compatible with you is going out to the streets to find him," she said. "You need to have a real-life experience with that person. So turn off the computer, put on your heels, slap on lipstick and hit the streets."
It wasn't just women who were seeking Saralegui's advice. One man said he had his eye on a woman, but he didn't know how to make the first move.
"Tell her: 'I like you,'" she said. "So simple. That's what my husband said to me. And here we are 31 years later."
Another woman, who was glad Saralegui was back on TV, was conflicted about her love life. She explained she is seeing one guy who is very kind to her, but whom she isn't attracted to. Meanwhile, she is also interested in a second guy, who is not good to her.
"Your situation is serious, but I think you should find a third," Saralegui said. "None of those two work for you."
For those in established relationships who might feel they might be missing their spark, Saralegui also had a bit of advice. She explained that people should try to work things out in many different ways before calling it quits.
