'Mortal Kombat X' Gameplay & Release Date News: 'Predator,' Spawn Characters to Be Included in DLC? [Pics]
The upcoming "Mortal Kombat X" video game will definitely have some downloadable content (DLC). DLC packs allow gamers to purchase extra characters, more arenas and hidden features not available in the basic version of games.
For "Mortal Kombat X's" DLC, there will be some extra characters. Rumors are pointing to characters from the movie "Predator." Sources say that Predator and CIA agent Colonel Al Dillon will make it into the game as DLC characters, LazyGamer reports.
Dillon was portrayed by Carl Weathers in the first "Predator." Weathers has apparently already agreed to let "Mortal Kombat X" use his likeness.
The rumor could have started way back in July when "Mortal Kombat" creator Ed Boon re-tweeted a picture of Scorpion and Predator face to face with the "Mortal Kombat X" logo in the middle. It was sent to him by a fan, and Boon seemed to like it.

If "Predator" characters do not make it into the game as DLC, it is possible that Spawn could. The creator of "Spawn," Todd McFarlane, recently spoke with GamerFitNation about the possibility of Spawn being included in video games. He said there is a short amount of time to get Spawn into the game but he would definitely approve it. In fact, McFarlane added he needs "the brand of Spawn to bigger than it is right now." A great way for the brand to become bigger would be including one of its characters in a highly-anticipated game.
Getting characters outside of Mortal Kombat and bringing them into the game is not out of the ordinary. In "Mortal Kombat 9," Kratos from "God of War" and Freddy Krueger from "Nightmare on Elm Street" both made it into the game as DLC.
"Mortal Kombat X" has a release date of April 14.
What do you think about extra characters being included as DLC in "Mortal Kombat X?"
