CW The Flash Season 1 Episodes, Air Date & Spoilers: New Characters to Appear in Upcoming Episodes
With the success of CW's "The Flash," a second season of the show has already been picked up and a new character, Wally West, will finally make his appearance.
During a Q & A at PaleyFest, showrunner Greg Berlanti told audiences that Wally West, also known as Kid Flash, would appear in the upcoming season. Berlanti answered a question that asked about the expansion of the Flash family; he said, "That's our hope. And we've already been picked up for a second season so I think if we were going to do something like that, we would do it next season."
It isn't the first time Berlanti mentions a possibility of seeing Kid Flash. Back in September, the showrunner said the character would be African American but never mentioned it again. However, with Berlanti's latest comments, it seems like the the show will move forward with this character.
Berlanti also took time to give some hints of where the season will end. From his comments at Paleyfest, he made it seem like Iris West will finally discover the secret identity of Barry Allen as Central City's Scarlet Speedster. "I can imagine that when she finds out Barry and Joe have been lying to her, it's going to be a huge sense of betrayal. That's at the base of everything. How could your family ... keep something so big from her? It's going to change everything."
There is still a lot of ground that has yet to be covered in Season 1 and many villains have yet to make their appearance. The series is based on the DC Comics hero and tells the story of Barry Allen, nine months after he was struck by lightning. When he discovers that the bolt gave him the power of super speed, Barry becomes "The Flash" and he, with his new team and powers, starts fighting crime in Central City.
The series stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Candice Patton as Iris West, and Tim Cavanaugh. Mark Hamill will make a special appearance and reprise his acclaimed role as the James Jesse, The Trickster.
"The Flash" will continue to air on Tuesdays on the CW.
