CW 'The Flash' Season 1 Spoilers & News Update: Victor Garber a.k.a. Firestorm Confirms Spinoff
Victor Garber, one half of the DC superhero Firestorm from The CW's hit series "The Flash," has confirmed that a Flash/Arrow spinoff featuring the nuclear-powered hero will be premiering in 2016.
During an interview with Broadway World the actor spoke about his character Firestorm, aka Dr. Martin Stein, and said that he couldn't say anything until CW made the official announcement. He said, "The character I play is half of Firestorm, so conjoined -- together -- they are Firestorm. It's been very wild and fun for me to do it. ... I think it's going to be a very fun ride. I really honestly can't tell you much about it except it is completely new, and it will involve a lot of interesting people."
He also revealed that they haven't started filming the show, but will commence over the summer. He stated, "We haven't filmed any of it yet -- but, it is going straight to series. We start filming in August and it will be on [The CW] in January."
Garber also said, "They are going to unveil more details about it soon -- I believe they are going to do something for it in May at the upfronts... it's a spinoff from 'THE FLASH,' which I have been working on for a few [episodes]. To be honest, it is very wild for me that at this point of my life I am now in that world - I am now a half-superhero!"
The spinoff has been in the works for months, especially after the success of DC's "The Flash" and "Arrow." Both series were critical favorites and scored great ratings. The new series is expected to star Caity Lotz, Wentworth Miller, Ciara Renee, Franz Drameh and Arthur Darvill. Nothing else is known about the series.
CW will conclude the first series of "The Flash" in the next few weeks and is expected to renew the show. The network is also wrapping on Season Three of "Arrow" and will likely move onto Season 4.
