Season 2 of "Gotham," which will return in the fall, already has a few things lined up for fans, including brand new villains and interesting cast changes.

According to IGN writer and executive editor Eric Goldman, "Gotham will feature 'Exciting new villains like The Joker and Mr. Freeze' in Season 2 we were just told."

Fox announced The Joker and Mr. Freeze's appearance on the series during their network upfronts. Some time ago, Bruno Heller announced The Joker's appearance on the series. However, the appearance of the tragic super villain with the cryogenic suit, Mr. Freeze aka Dr. Victor Fries, is a bigger surprise for "Gotham" fans.

In addition to Mr. Freeze and the Joker, fans will also be witness to the rise of The Riddler. Also, villians Clayface and Mad Hatter will appear.

Dr. Leslie "Lee" Thompkins, played by Brazilian born actress Morena Baccarin, first appeared on the 11th episode of the series "Rogues' Gallery." The former medical practitioner at Arkham Asylum, medical examiner for the GCPD and girlfriend of James Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Thompkins will become a series regular on "Gotham," according to the A.V. Club.

Thompkins was inserted into the series as a "plot device to interact with James Gordon," distracting him from his original love interest Barbara Kean (Erin Richards). While Thompkins will be a more permanent fixture during the second season of the series, Baccarin is expected to continue to appear on The CW's "The Flash," in a reoccurring capacity. Also, she's set to appear in 2016's "Deadpool," alongside Ryan Reynolds.

"Gotham" will air Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox when Season 2 premieres this fall.
