Fans of the Starz series "Outlander" will be shocked to find out that the ruthless characteristics of Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) are not inherent traits that run in the family, according to The Wrap.

In Season 2 of "Outlander," viewers will be introduced to Randall's younger brother, Alex Randall, who will be portrayed by actor Laurence Dobiesz.

Alex has none of his older brother's ruthless charm or devious affections for the torture of the series' main two heroes, Claire and Jamie. He is a curate and secretary for the Duke of Sandringham.

His character is described as a gentle, loving and kind person, which is quite the antithesis of his older brother. Dobiesz even shares a physical resemblance to Menzies' Black Jack, which will give the second season an even more authentic feel for the series.

Season 2 of this global hit series, based on Diana Gabaldon's best-selling novels, is currently in production in Scotland. Filming is expected to take place in locations across Europe, including Prague and England. The scenery in both locations is supposed to be the best representative of the authentic feel that show creator Ron Moore is so committed to for the series.

Next season is supposed to pick up in France, with Claire and Jamie attempting to infiltrate the Jacobite rebellion and stop the Battle of Culloden. This is based off Book 2, "Dragonfly in Amber," of the book series.

This type of intrusion on historical events can prove to be disastrous for Claire, because she traveled back in time to arrive at the situation. Therefore, she could affect her own history in the future. It is an altogether attempt to preserve the Scottish way of life though.

Zap2it reports that Diana Gabaldon is very impressed with what she has seen thus far with the scripts for Season 2.
