The showdown between Ronda Rousey and Cris "Cyborg" Justino could happen this year, as reports revealed the two camps have started discussions for the megafight.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz said during an interview with Inside MMA that Cyborg received an offer to face Rousey on Dec. 5 at Cowboys Stadium.

Ortiz, who is a former co-manager and training partner of Justino, said that Cyborg and her camp accepted the offer and it is now up to Rousey to accept the deal.

However, UFC president Dana White told Yahoo Sports that Ortiz is lying and no offer has been made to Justino.

"It's 100 percent a lie," White said of Ortiz's statement. "First of all, the UFC doesn't even talk to Tito Ortiz, so let's start there. But we haven't offered any fight. Tito Ortiz is just making this [expletive] up. In no way, shape or form did we offer her [Cyborg] a fight against Ronda at Cowboys Stadium. Completely untrue."

But when Justino's manager George Prajin was asked to comment on the reported negotiation, he said that he is not used to disclosing negotiation details to the media, but he confirmed they had multiple talks with UFC about the showdown. He said he understands White's denial because of the UFC president's relationship with Ortiz.

"What I can say, and the only reason I say this is because of what is going on between Tito and Dana," Prajin told ESPN. "I can confirm that I had multiple conversations with the UFC in the last week regarding Cris and a potential fight in December."

Rousey and Cyborg have been linked to each other over the past several months because they have been dominating their opponents. Rousey reigns supreme at the UFC women's bantamweight division, while Cyborg is the current Invicta FC featherweight champion.

According to previous reports, the fight will only happen if UFC will promote the fight, not Invicta FC. White also insisted before that it will only be finalized if Cyborg will agree to move down to 135 pounds.

Prajin said that the proposed fight on Dec. 5 will be a 135-pound showdown. They are confident Cyborg will be able to make the weight and maintain her strength.

"I can also confirm the end result of those conversations is that Cris is agreeable to fighting Ronda on Dec. 5 at Cowboys Stadium at 135 pounds," Prajin added.
