‘Sense8’ Season 2 Release Date & Spoilers: Here's What We Know So Far
Now that "Sense8" season 2 is confirmed, it's time to begin the watch for the upcoming plotlines. Where will the Netflix sleeper hit pick up and what else is in store for the world's favorite sensates?
"Sense8" left off with the fates of the eight sensates up in the air. Will and Riley are on the run, with the former drugged and unconscious to avoid the eyes of the terrifying Whispers on their cluster. Wolfgang reveals his terrible secret to Kala, leaving their relationship strained and the Indian in the middle of a love triangle with the German criminal and her considerate fiancé Rajan. Capheus wipes out his enemies with the help of Sun, who remains jailed for the sins of her brother. Lito has reunited with his beloved Hernando, and Nomi plays heroine for all her fellow sensates with Amanita by her side.
The end of the season is open-ended enough that a second season holds much potential for more interesting storylines and characters. In an interview with Assignment X, "Sense8" producer J. Michael Straczynski opened up about the ambitious show and its upcoming season.
"There are other clusters out there, and if there were to be a second season, we might be meeting them," he revealed during the interview.
Straczynski added that the audience shouldn't expect every new sensate to be on the side of the current cluster. "Some of them will be more [attuned to the commonality of being in a cluster], some will say, 'I'm hiding out, don't reveal me,' the value of not being seen. So not all sensates will be naturally good people. Some people with that ability might not be the best people. So there's a whole range of them."
This is the only new tidbit that's been revealed by the team behind "Sense8," but there's no need to worry about the story arc of the Wachowskis' brainchild. In a previous report, Straczynski assured that the three of them are set with an existing five-year plan.
"We have a rough structure for five years," he said in an interview with Collider. "Should Netflix decide to o it, we already have the second season worked out in great detail. And then, we have rough notes for the next three years, beyond that. I need to know where I'm going. I always write toward the ending, so I need to know where it's going."
There is no confirmed release date for "Sense8" season 2 yet.
