Ana Brenda Contreras recently said she is not trying to become the "Queen of Telenovelas," but would prefer to be known as a diverse actress.

According to El Informador, Contreras is not looking to be known simply for telenovelas.

"I am flattered. I'm glad that people have that vision and love for me, but times have changed, and today's telenovelas don't reach Russia, China and other places. They don't have the same impact anymore because of the internet, new platforms and those things," she said. "But what I would love more than being 'Queen of Telenovelas' is to be queen of the evolution and to be doing things different all the time. It flatters me, but it's not the title I look for."

The actress, who has been acting for the last 15 years, admitted to being a workaholic. She has been in several successful telenovelas, including "Juro Que Te Amo," "Teresa," "Corazón indomable," and most recently, "Lo imperdonable," which also brought the actress some drama via rumors of a relationship with her married costar Iván Sanchez, reported El Cinco.

Contreras explained that she is hyperactive and gets bored easily if things are always the same. That's why, while she was working on "Lo imperdonable," she became part of the musical "Mentiras." She called the musical a great experience and said it has helped add to her growing, diverse resume.

However, the 28-year-old still has other career goals. Contreras explained that she wants to be on the big screen.

"I would like to experiment with other genres. I have film offers. Maybe I'll do a little bit of independent film or more dramatic and serious theater. I did some micro theater. It was a great experience. I don't know if I would repeat it," she said.

Contreras explained that she isn't worried about her personal life as much and that people would know if something was going on.

"If there was something, you would already know it because I am very open in that sense, and when something does happen, I am sure that you will know," she said.
