Singer/songwriter/producer/actress, Mariah Carey took to Facebook on Friday, October 11th with an open letter to fans, sharing updates on her upcoming album and the recovery of her dislocated shoulder.

Carey, 43, dislocated her shoulder in July while filming a music video. She has called her recovery period "the toughest experience of my life," indicating that it has taken a lot of energy and effort for her health to improve. She stated that she works day and night, and spends a great deal of time resting in order to recuperate. But, she credits that hard work, and the assistance of incredible physical therapists, for the magnificent amount of healing that she's already experienced in three months. She is happily on her way to a full recovery.

"It's a huge deal, it should have taken eight months and even my doctors can't believe it," she says. "It's been a long journey, the physical therapists have been incredible and I am very grateful to all of them for helping me."

The Art of Letting Go, Carey's latest studio album, produced by Jermaine Dupri, was originally set for release in March, then this past summer, but has been delayed indefinitely because of frequent changes and additions made to the album and, now, Carey's injury.

Nonetheless, her letter did indicate that new music would be available soon, though no release date has been mentioned mentioned. The Art of Letting Go, "one of the most important albums" of Carey's career, will include the hit single "#Beautiful" featuring Miguel, "Triumphant" featuring Rick Ross and Meek Mill, "Almost Home," "The Art of Letting Go" and "Save the Day." The album's other collaborators are DJ Clue?, R. Kelly, Mike Will Made It, Young Jeezy, Q-Tip, Da Brat, The-Dream, David Morales and many more. The album's release was supposed to coincide with a world tour that was meant to kick off in Asia this month -though that likely isn't happening.
