Kid Rock Offers Malibu Property for $12.5M
Kid Rock offers his Malibu property on the market for a much lower price.
Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, is selling his retreat home for almost $12.5 million, reported Los Angeles Times.
It was nearly a million dollars less than his reported original asking price of $13.45 million. However, the 44-year-old singer and musician is still expected to gain from the deal on this new listed price as he bought the home in 2006 for only $11.6 million, noted the news outlet, citing real estate public records.
The music artist, who was known for the 1998 album "Devil Without a Cause" and this year's "First Kiss," tasked real estate agent Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency to handle the estate's listing this time.
The almost 8,300-square-foot residence resting on 1.5 acres of Malibu lot displays five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Other living spaces that occupy the home are a living room, a family room, an office, a personal gym, a sauna, a dining room and a kitchen with high-end appliances.
Apart from the main house, there is a guest house for the next owners to receive close visitors for a couple of nights' stay.
The dwelling place is aesthetic with creative intricate accents like hand-carved doors and "black-and-white mosaic" entry. Photos of the Balinese-inspired abode may also be seen on Huffington Post when it featured the retreat home in 2013. Based on the photos, the house could really be a serene and relaxing place to stay, with mesmerizing garden views courtesy of wide and tall glass panels, elegant darkwood-lined flooring and ceilings as well as a great contrast of dark and white colors used in designing the house.
Outdoors, the sprawling grounds made beautiful by the gardens and fountains are also highlighted by the presence of the swimming pool, noted the Los Angeles Times.
The Malibu home, which was bought by the famous music artist when he was still in a relationship with "Baywatch" star Pamela Anderson, also prides itself to host celebrities like two-time Academy Awards winner Sean Penn, Beastie Boys' founder Mike Diamond, the popular crooner Josh Groban and "Hello" singer Lionel Richie, noted Rolling Stone.
A generous person
Rock reportedly owns several properties and yet he remains loyal and giving to his friends. According to his pal Jamey Johnson, he is very charitable and is humble enough not to tell about his generosity, a separate Rolling Stone article informed.
"He's the kind of guy that does the right thing even when no one's looking. You're more likely to go and find out some of the charitable things he's done in his life from other people than from him, because he won't talk about it," Johnson shared.
