'Attack on Titan' Season 2 Will Only Have 12 Episodes; Toonami to Air Anime Starting April 29
The highly anticipated "Attack on Titan" season 2 is coming to Toonami on April 29. The sequel first aired in Japan earlier this week and has been simulcast by Crunchyroll and other streaming sites. It has been revealed that it will only have 12 episodes.
When the "Attack on Titan" season 2 news was announced, many fans doubted the authenticity. The announcement was made on April 1 where it was thought as an April Fools joke. However, Adult Swim's Jason DeMarco confirmed that the show will air on Toonami, Comicbook reports.
"Attack on Titan" season 2 will air on Adult Swim on its scheduled anime schedule. The outlet adds that Toonami will be bringing back "Samurai Jack" and "Dragon Ball Super" this week after a couple of episodes of "Rick and Morty" was aired last week.
Those who follow the first season know that Eren has Titan powers. Those who follow the manga knows that how he got it and other people who have similar powers like him unfold into a bigger plotline of the story. The first episode of "Attack on Titan" season 2 dives first into action and gore.
Kotaku reports that the events in the second season have the Titans inside Wall Rose. Flashbacks of Eren's childhood make it to the first episode followed by copious amounts of bloodshed and deaths. However, the first episode ended in a cliffhanger enough for its fans to wait and watch the second episode of "Attack on Titan" season 2 this week.
It was announced that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will only have 12 episodes, more than 50% less episodes than its first season. It is expected to have a faster pacing because of this. Hopefully, fans won't have to pine for season 3 as soon as the current season ends with an expected cliffhanger.
