Amir Khan is not losing hope as he is still eyeing a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. next year after failing to convince the reigning pound-for-pound king to face him this year.

But in order to get a chance to face Mayweather in 2015, Khan knows that he needs to score an impressive victory against Devon Alexander in their upcoming showdown on Dec. 13 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"I'm working very hard to put on a show against Alexander, this is a big fight card so all eyes will be on me. A good performance against Alexander will push me towards that goal," Khan said of getting a shot against Mayweather. "I want Floyd next, you all know that. If it is easy money for him, then why doesn't he take it?"

Khan, who holds a 29-3 record with 19 knockouts, almost got a shot against Mayweather earlier this year, but the unbeaten welterweight and junior middleweight champion opted to face Marcos Maidana in May and in a rematch in September.

The Bolton, England native is aware that most boxing analysts are saying that he does not deserve a fight against Mayweather, but Khan reiterated that he could put the 37-year-old into a lot of trouble.

But if Mayweather declines to face him again next year, Khan said that he is ready to move on and focus on getting fights against other big-name fighters.

Khan revealed that he is willing to face former stablemate and sparring partner Manny Pacquiao and reigning World Boxing Association and World Boxing Council light welterweight champion Danny Garcia, who knocked the Briton out in the fourth round of their fight in July 2012.

"If [Mayweather] still dodges me, then I want Pacquiao. I want to be in the mix with the top names," Khan said. "A Danny Garcia rematch is something I still want. He has turned down a re-fight offer three times so far, so I don't really know. The rematch will really be a big fight."
