Amanda Bynes 2015: Actress Looks Good on Recent Shopping Trip as DUI Case Moves to LA Country District Attorney's Office
Amanda Bynes was spotted in public for the first time in two months and reportedly looked fit and healthy as she went shopping around West Hollywood.
Bynes wore denim jeans, a white T-shirt and checkered jacket along with Nike sneakers, E! News reports.
The 28-year-old actress recently faced charges on suspicion of a DUI last September. The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office decided to not press charges for that incident last month. Bynes still may have to face charges, however, since the case is now being forwarded to the LA County District Attorney's Office. The arrest may have violated her probation. Bynes' attorney did not comment on the decision.
In late January, New York Daily News reported Bynes will not be prosecuted by the LA City Attorney on allegations she ran a red light and stopped in the middle of an intersection while under the influence of an undisclosed substance.
"There was not enough evidence to provide a likelihood of conviction if filed," City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan said.
Bynes' blood test from the arrest came back showing she was driving under the influence of Adderall, TMZ reported.
The City Attorney said it was a relatively low level of the drug in her bloodstream, which would make it difficult to sell the case to a jury.
Driving with any amount of Adderall in her system, however, could mean a probation violation and translate into jail time for Bynes.
The former Nickelodeon star has been battling a mental disorder. The District Attorney may not send her to jail if it gets in the way of her treatment.
There is no telling what Bynes would do next. She studied at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Orange County but decided she wanted to transfer to the University of Southern California.
