The Wrap's Tim Molloy seemed to have received a beating when he asked 'Girls' writer and director, Lena Dunham, about her inevitable nude scenes on the show.

"I don't get the purpose of all the nudity on the show. By you particularly. I feel like I'm walking into a trap where you say no one complains about the nudity on 'Game of Thrones,' but I get why they're doing it. They're doing it to be salacious. To titillate people. And your character is often naked at random times for no reason," said Molloy Thursday during a Television Critics Association panel.

Dunham replied saying "Yeah. It's because it's a realistic expression of what it's like to be alive, I think, and I totally get it. If you are not into me, that's your problem."

The HBO show's executive producers, Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner, also defended both the show's nude scenes as well as Dunham - with Apatow getting more personal with Molloy in the process. Apatow even reportedly continued the conversation with the Wrap writer and TV critic after the panel.

Dunham has appeared naked or partly naked in a few episodes of 'Girls' in the past 2 seasons. Here are a few reactions from Twitter users with regards to the writer-director's show of skin.

Personally, I understand the nudity in #GIRLS much more than #GoT. Let's be real and not exploit.

It isn't rocket science: if there's going to be gratuitous nudity on a TV show, people prefer to see hot bods #Girls

Is there anyone grosser than @lenadunham ?? Don't care how popular #Girls is...I'm not watching a show where a 3 is naked the whole time Ugh

I feel like people who don't get the nudity on #Girls don't immediately take off their pants when they get home. #tca14

Season 3 of #Girls is compulsively, addictively watchable. If you're still asking why Hannah is unlikable, you're watching the wrong show.

Lena Dunham plays "Hannah Horvath", an aspiring writer and makes up for a quarter of the 4-girl main cast. The rest of the girls comprise of Marnie Michaels, Hannah's BFF and played by Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke's character, Jessa Johansson who was one married and Shoshanna Shapiro (Zosia Marmet), Jessa's cousin.

Season 3 of 'Girls' will premiere January 12 at 10pm/ 9c on HBO in a special back-to-back episode. See the official trailer in the video below.
