Taylor Swift's popular video for her track "Wildest Dreams" successfully passed 100 million views on Vevo on Sunday.

The 25-year-old singer first debuted the video, which features Scott Eastwood, at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, according to Entertainment Weekly.

When the video reached this important view count, Vevo tweeted out a message along with the video to let all of Swift's fans know of the feat.

Initially, the music video received heated criticism for its depiction of white colonialism in Africa. Director Joseph Kahn assured fans this was not their intention in creating the video.

"This is not a video about colonialism but a love story on the set of a period film crew in Africa, 1950," Kahn said.

In the video Swift appears as a brunette, having her makeup and hair done on a movie set, while gazing at her co-star. Throughout the video, the film crew works on scenes on set, and Swift is seen in fields among giraffes and elephants. Another scene features the two co-stars getting intimate in the bedroom, and in another, Swift pushes Eastwood, after becoming angry with him on the set, before storming off.

While the "Wildest Dreams" video has achieved impressive attention as far as views go, this is not the first time Swift has done well with a music video. Her previous video for "Bad Blood" soared to 20.1 million views in one day, becoming the fastest video to reach one billion views in July.

"Wildest Dreams" is the fifth single from Swift's fifth studio album, "1989." This week, the track reached No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. Additional singles from the album include "Shake It Off," "Blank Space," "Style" and "Bad Blood."

Swift released "1989" on Oct. 27, 2014. The album has reached the top of the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and the U.K. Albums chart.
