Taylor Swift May Take Break After '1989' Tour
Taylor Swift is contemplating taking time off after her grueling "1989" world tour ends.
The 25-year-old singer says after such a lengthy tour, she's realizing she may need some time to relax, while also giving her fans a break from her, according NME.
"I think I should take some time off," Swift said. "I think people might need a break from me. I'm going to ... I don't know. Hang out with my friends. Write new music. Maybe not write new music. I don't know."
In planning for her next album, the "Shake It Off" singer says she is definitely not expecting to top the success of "1989."
"How could the next one be as big?" she said. "Maybe the next album will be a bridge to somewhere else. Or maybe I'll just go ahead and change everything."
With "1989" the singer made the smooth transition from country to pop, although some criticized her for the decision.
Swift kicked off her "1989" world tour in May in Japan, before going on to play shows in North America and Europe. In November, the singer will be returning to Asia to play a few dates in Singapore and China. She will then wrap up the tour in Australia in December.
The album "1989," which is Swift's fifth studio album, was released on Oct. 27, 2014. It has produced the singles "Shake It Off," "Blank Space," "Style," "Bad Blood" and "Wildest Dreams."
Swift recently became the most popular person followed on Instagram with 49.6 million followers. Kim Kardashian came in a close second with 48.1 million followers, while Beyoncé rang in third with 47.2 folowers. Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande filled the fourth and fifth spots respectively with 45.9 million and 44.6 million.
