Director Joe Carnahan has stepped down as the director of "Bad Boy For Life," the third movie of the franchise. The director listed his reason for quitting the project as "scheduling conflicts" but some reports say otherwise.

The director also announced the news on his Twitter that his reason is due to conflicting schedules. He adds that he and his partner, Frank Grillo busy with the beginning stages of their production company. IGN reports that in some reports, Joe Carnahan stepped down from "Bad Boys For Life" due to "creative differences.

Joe Carnahan was not only set to direct "Bad Boy For Life," he also had a part in writing the movie script for it. The movie seeks to bring back the tandem of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as detectives Mike Lowery and Marcus Bennett respectively. It is currently in production with filming set to be later this year in November. The film's release date is slated for November 8, 2018 which was moved from June 2, 2017.

According to Collider, the search for the new director of "Bad Boys For Life" is underway. However, there is no word yet as to who will pick the project. The outlet adds that the script may also be redone now with Joe Carnahan out of the way.

It looks like Joe Carnahan is not down on his luck as the independent film director is busy with other projects. Aside from penning the "Bad Boys For Life" script, he wrote the script for the film adaptation of "Uncharted" and for "X-Force." He is also set to direct "The Raid" and various TV series including "The Blacklist."
