The famed video game, "Metal Gear Solid," is coming to an end, and instead of closing it with a big a bang, it passionately offered its fans a subtle trailer of the years it existed.

According to Attack of the Fan Boy, the "retro replay" was featured prior to the release of "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain." Treading through the history of video games, "Metal Gear Solid" (MGS) has one of the biggest twists in gameplay concepts.

The latest trailer was expected to feature an action-packed combat scrimmage and new challenges for the upcoming "The Phantom Pain." However, it instead showed how the game grew since it started. The game's 28-year existence delivered profound memories to the fans as each scene rolled after another.

Techno Buffalo notes that the trailer has not been all about the memories of "Metal Gear Solid." In fact, the middle part of the trailer has been the actual launch of the last episode in which Hideo Kojima's trademark was truly felt.

Emphasis on the Big Boss has also been given, showing how he has transformed into the villain that he portrays up to the last episodes of the game. Big Boss has acted as the main character when the "Metal Gear Solid" was first created until Solid Snake took center stage and turned out to be his nemesis.

NDTV Gadgets adds that while most video games follow strict rules for storylines and gameplays, the "Metal Gear Solid" series has slightly veered off course. The report further states that following a strict story line is not one of the game's best features.

Going through the "Metal Gear Solid's" episode occurrence, everything started with a plain "Metal Gear" title. This eventually progressed to "Metal Gear Solid" in 1998 available on PlayStation 1 and subsequently, on PC.

The rest of the "Metal Gear Solid" title has been history, passing through six episodes mainly "Sons of Liberty," "Snake Eater," "Portable Ops," "Guns of the Patriots," "Peace Walker" and "Ground Zeroes." Its final episode, which creator Hideo Kojima dubbed as his last, is the "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain."

One of the highlights of the beloved game has been the "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty," where it sealed the greatness of the game as a follow-up episode.
