'Suicide Squad 2' News: 'Tarzan' Writer Adam Cozad May Help Pen Sequel; Mel Gibson Possible Director
"Suicide Squad 2" is the sequel to its Oscar-nominated predecessor and so far, it is currently still in the works. There have been reports that screenwriter Adam Cozad who helped pen "The Legend of Tarzan" has been tapped to write the script for the film.
IGN reports that Cozad is reportedly in negotiations with Warner Bros. to permanently place him as the script writer for "Suicide Squad 2." The first movie was directed and written by David Ayer but has to let go of the sequel to direct the spinoff "Gotham City Sirens."
Additionally, Mel Gibson will reportedly be the one replacing Ayer in directing "Suicide Squad 2." The outlet adds that there is no official statement yet regarding the director of the sequel.
The plot for "Suicide Squad 2" is currently unknown and some fans are baffled by what's to come. Cinema Blend reports that the first film did not have any Justice League superheroes, therefore making it possible for the antiheroes to be forced in some sort of heroic plot.
However, reports say that "Suicide Squad 2" will be released only after Zack Snyder's "Justice League" movie has hit the theaters. It may be likely that members of the Task Force X who are considered expendable may be involved in a plot where they need to help the good guys of the film.
Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn who was in the first movie will be in "Gotham City Sirens." It is not known or confirmed if her character will make an appearance in "Suicide Squad 2." The next DC Comics-based movie to hit the theaters will be "Wonder Woman" on June 2, 2017.
Do you think Adam Cozad will do a great job in writing the script for the "Suicide Squad 2" movie? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
